Foundational habits, hormone support, and how I’ve transformed my health—without overloading on supplements.
Happy first Friday in June! With my birthday coming in just a couple of days, be on the lookout for some insane giveaways next week on Instagram to celebrate! My love language is giving gifts – even when it’s my birthday!

Also, if you’re needing some support in your menopause or perimenopause journey (or just hormones in general), we decided to offer a summer hormone pod, specifically so teachers have a chance to join! The first round was super transformative, but I’ve learned so much from that first group and have even more valuable guidance lined up! I will say, this was some of the most life-giving changes I’ve ever seen in 2 months. Although it’s not time-consuming, they definitely put in the work.
One of the reasons I decided to expand my offerings on a root cause level is that I felt pill pushing was being done on a functional level too often. Supplements are just that – SUPPLEMENTAL to the work you’re already doing. They don’t do the work for you. And they can actually add to the body's stress. I’ve really been pushing for foundational support now for a couple of years, and it’s so simple that I think a lot of people roll their eyes at it. But when we support our bodies foundationally, they are able to do the work of healing and restoring all on their own.
After foundational support, then focusing on the area that your body needs will be the biggest game changer. In our membership, we go in order. Don’t forget that you can also search for past topics or ask us where to find something. I’m not saying over-supplementation is a problem for everyone, but I see people coming to me who are on 20-30 different supplements.
I always find it fascinating that human nature is driven to take a pill rather than make changes. This isn’t just referring to pharma, but also functional health. We’re so quick to jump on a trend of supplementation rather than altering our lifestyle. Summer is a great time to take a break from therapeutics and really focus on habits. Why? Because we’re motivated to look a certain way. The sunshine is life-giving and motivating to be outside and move, plus the food in the summer is so abundant and colorful. Granted if you need supplements for optimal health, this isn’t me telling you that you don’t need them, just a suggestion to let up and see what your body can do!
Hone in on what you need to support:
Movement?
Hydration?
circadian rhythm and sleep?
Macro-balanced meals?
Eating within an hour of waking up?
Metabolic health?
Lymphatic and drainage?
Understanding the Dosha body type?
As you decide what to hone in on, keep in mind that there are many lifestyle practices that play into each of these that aren’t just taking supplements. What lifestyle habits can you improve? What foods can you eat to support this? Do you need to improve your eating schedule and eating habits to support this aspect of your health?
Personally, I’ve dedicated my whole year to transforming my lymphatic system, and here’s what I’ve noticed. I haven’t been sick since I started giving extra time to improving lymphatic functioning and drainage/detox. In fact, I don’t think I’ve been sick since Winter 2023, which says a lot for me because my immune health struggled for about 10 years! My legs and abs are getting their muscles back, rather than having the aging “dimples” that the sluggish lymph was giving me! Not because of major food or exercise changes either! My varicose veins that came up through pregnancy have improved greatly! I hardly even notice them during hormone shifts anymore. My energy has been stable, even though I've forgotten to take my B vitamins. My mental clarity is off the charts (for me), and I can work well into the evening if I need to. I’m taking nothing additional except daily ginger shots (when I remember) and a lymphatic homeopathic.
I am focused on daily rebounding and dry brushing. I’m also focused on lymphatic activation, and thankfully, I found a lymphatic therapist near me, who has helped a ton! But it mostly boils down to focus and habits to being the best version of myself and defying genetics.
As we step into this new season, I encourage you to reflect on what your body is truly asking for—and to respond with intention, not overwhelm. You don’t need to do all the things, just start with one supportive habit that aligns with where you are right now. Healing doesn’t have to be complicated—it’s often the simple, consistent choices that create the biggest shifts. Whether you’re joining the hormone pod, participating in our membership, or simply soaking up more sun and color this summer, know that you’re capable of incredible transformation when you tune in and take aligned action. Let this season be about building trust with your body again—one mindful step at a time.
