I wish people knew…

This is just a little follow-up on my latest IG reel. First and foremost, I want to say that I’m not all or nothing… Perfectionism doesn’t make us better, but consistency does. So, it’s essential to know what’s potentially increasing our toxic load and ways to manage it better, if possible.

I wouldn’t say I’m crunchy. I’m just aware, so I thought I’d share some of the things I find others aren’t super aware of. You can take it or leave it. And I hope whatever you do, you research it all on your own. Please don’t trust me or anyone else – determine your priorities!

So here are the explanations of what I said and why…

Wireless Headphones – Wired headphones are still available and more affordable. Wireless headphones that connect through Bluetooth seem convenient because they don’t have the wires that get tangled, but think about how they have to communicate. It’s a Bluetooth connection, and they’re in your ears, so its communication line is through the brain. EMFS directly through our brains. Does that seem worth it to you? It doesn’t to me, but I still can’t talk my husband out of it, so there you have it. If we’re considering our overall toxic load, EMFs must be part of the convo. So many of them are built into the environment, so let’s control what we can. On the same note, let’s get those phones away from our heads while we sleep and in airplane mode. And please, no Wi-Fi routers in the bedroom, and please do not plug anything in to charge behind your beds.

Sunshine – the sun has been so villainized, and I’m here to tell you it’s a glorious wonder. Think about how you feel when you even see a sunshiny day, especially after a series of grey days. It lifts your spirits, right? I’m not encouraging you to lay out all day and get excessive sun. I’m encouraging you to brave that noon sun for 15 minutes without sunscreen or covering up to allow your body to connect to its circadian rhythm. The sun truly has insane health benefits that we can’t live without. Don’t be afraid of it… use responsibly. 😉

Saturated Fat and Cholesterol – The brain is made up of 60% fat, which is a good amount of cholesterol. Up to 25% of the body's total cholesterol lives in the brain. I’m seeing patterns of low cholesterol when I look at blood work lately, and this is every bit as scary as extremely high cholesterol. In short, because I could write a book on this, cholesterol isn’t bad! Healthy saturated fats do not cause issues in the body. Coconut products, egg yolks, and beef have become superfoods in my book, and coconut and beef have significantly helped heal people who have been misled.

Burning Candles – Ok, an occasional naturally fragranced beeswax candle is ok! But we never want to overexpose our lungs to smoke in the air if we don’t have to. Have you ever noticed your air purifier working extra hard when you light a candle? Imagine your kidneys, the body's natural air filter, are also working extra hard. It’s not a great idea to expose ourselves to unnecessary toxins, especially if we are trying to heal. I love to boil natural herbs and spices and occasionally use a diffuser, but even then, we don’t like to over-diffuse.

What We Put On Our Skin – If up to 70% of what goes on the skin gets into the bloodstream, we need to consider that what we put on our skin matters. It can either help decrease our toxic load or burden the blood to get it out of the system. I also don’t recommend throwing everything away now. Switching out your products can be a slow and steady process. Not one thing is going to be the demise of our health; it’s a culmination.

Coffee On An Empty Stomach – Coffee on an empty stomach can lead to cortisol issues. We love that morning adrenaline rush, but it can confuse our adrenal glands, which produce cortisol. We don’t want our bodies to think our energy comes from caffeine hits. We want our bodies to know that our power comes from the nutrients we eat. I drink coffee every day, and sometimes I don’t feel like a full meal, so I hack my coffee with either a lot of coconut cream or collagen, MCT oil, and a few Brazil nuts on the side. I am just being fully transparent here.

Fruit – People quickly remove this superfood for fast weight loss. But there isn’t a food higher in antioxidants, phytonutrients, and vitamins than fruit. We’re risking more than the long-term reward when removing fruit from our lives.

We Are Energetic Beings – We are physical, emotional, and spiritual. All of these have been proven, but some people get uneasy thinking about the body's energetic nature. We have a magnetic charge and a magnetic field. Explore quantum physics, biomagnetism, and bioenergy. It’s all fascinating because we’ve only been taught about the body via Biology and Chemistry. Still, there is a physics to our bodies, too, and it’s fascinating and quickly becoming my favorite way to heal!
