I Wish People Knew… Part 4

It’s time for another edition of Things I Wish People Knew! This is a follow-up to this Instagram post. Did you miss the first three? Find them here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

I always love to clear the air regarding the latest researched studies in the ever-evolving health and wellness field. We all need to be open to when more information or data comes to the surface… also trust your intuition! I always tell people that one person’s superfood isn’t necessarily another person's superfood. That can sometimes confuse people trying to commit to a healthy lifestyle. If something is genuinely working for you, you will know! So, let’s dive right in:

Eggs are a superfood—I think this goes without saying, but according to the FDA, eggs only recently became a heart-healthy food. Before, people were told that eggs could raise cholesterol levels. Oh, cholesterol, a whole other story, which I will share more in-depth another time. However, I find that the agreed-upon ranges and levels don’t reflect a metabolically healthy person. I will share more on that soon!

Low cholesterol can be an alarm— Back to the topic of cholesterol quickly. In studying the root cause of illness and disease, it’s come to my attention that a lot of people are proud to have low cholesterol. We don’t want anything high or anything low. We want regulation! So, in terms of ranges and what I see, I want to share the alarm that low cholesterol levels can potentially mean:

  • Liver stress

  • Inflammation

  • Low-fat diet

  • Heavy metals

  • Malnutrition

Low Triglycerides:

  • Liver distress, autoimmune, heavy metals, mold illness

Low HDL:

  • Metals and mold, liver stress, possible thyroid issues, poor diet

Low LDL:

  • We assume this is the flex of all flexes, but it could mean heavy metals or mold or possible choline needed

The truth is we need regulation more than anything, but the low patterns are something I’m seeing more common than high lately!

Skin issues are related to the gut but can be multi-dimensional— I’ve been trying to explain this because I have a lot of teen clients lately. Acne or even eczema are multi-faceted and tell a more significant, far more complex story. A pathogen always seems to be involved with acne; it is often a topical bacteria. But hormones, gut issues, and toxic load all seem to play a role here. Testing and not guessing is a good option when dealing with skin issues. In under two weeks, eczema can often be reversed with proper diet and foundational support! This is terrific news!

Some detoxes can cause more harm than good— Please, oh please, prep your drainage pathways, and don’t do a major detox on a body that is already stressed! Or better yet, join our Spring Wellness Renewal and do all the drainage and lymphatic work with us as a community! Seriously though, a stressed body will become more stressed with an intense detox unless foundationally supported and prepped with drainage and lymphatic support.

Hydrogen water is the latest and greatest—I shared a recent reel on this. Here’s what I noticed after drinking mine regularly:

  • Detoxing naturally

  • Recovery from sickness or injury is faster

  • It clears out the gut

  • Super hydrating where you don’t need too much water

  • Energy boost

  • Inflammation reduction

Period cramps aren’t normal & you don’t need to wait for hot flashes to support perimenopause— I put these together because they’re both hormone-related. Period cramps might be common, but they’re not normal—they’re a sign that your hormones are out of balance. Similarly, you don’t have to wait for hot flashes to start supporting your body through perimenopause. Hormonal shifts can begin in your 30s and 40s, often showing up as irregular cycles, mood swings, fatigue, and stubborn weight gain. The good news? These symptoms aren’t something you just have to “deal with.” Our Hormone Health Masterclasses will show you how to balance your hormones naturally, ease period pain, and navigate perimenopause with clarity and confidence. (We also have a menopause-specific class, too!)

As always, I’m sharing this with so much love because I know topics like this can spark debate. I genuinely strive to stay up to date with the ever-evolving science, digging into the latest research while leaning on my 17 years of experience in the field and real-life insights. It’s never about upsetting anyone—it’s about questioning outdated beliefs and embracing what we now know. It’s always about researching and choosing what feels right for you and your body!
