If you had told me years ago that a parasite was behind my daughter’s eczema, tummy aches, and never-ending fatigue, I probably would have smiled politely and moved on.
But now? I know better.
This story goes back to when my third daughter was almost 4 years old (she’s 12 now—how crazy is that?!) and it’s still one of the most eye-opening health journeys our family has ever walked through.
It’s not easy to share—but I’m telling it because I know there’s another mom out there right now, doing everything right, and still watching her child struggle. I want you to know: you’re not crazy. And you’re definitely not alone.
It Started with a Rash…
Around 18 months old, my daughter developed a rash on her leg. I did all the things—cleaned up her diet, added bone broth, essential oils, gentle supplements. And they helped… a little. But the eczema never fully went away.
Then came the other symptoms:
- Chronic tummy aches
- Constant hunger
- Fatigue and dark circles under her eyes
- Bloated belly
- Eczema that spread to 13 patches
- Weak immune system (every virus hit her hardest)

I was already deep into nutrition and holistic wellness, and yet nothing was fixing it. That quiet mom instinct just kept whispering: there’s something deeper here.
The Turning Point: A Different Kind of Doctor
Eventually, I was connected to a functional medicine doctor. She used muscle testing (which I was super skeptical about, to be honest) and within two minutes, told me what I hadn’t even considered: parasites.
I was shocked. Grossed out. But also… it made total sense.
So we began what I called our “pathogen starvation” phase. Supplements. Herbs. Enzymes. Essential oils. And a very strict diet.
We went all in—because I was desperate to help my little girl feel better.
It Wasn’t Linear… But It Was Working
For weeks and months, I tracked everything—her symptoms, her sleep, even her stool (yes, really).
We had days of hope and days that felt like setbacks. “Die-off” symptoms came and went. Her eczema would flare, then disappear. We even did lab work and everything came back normal. Still, I knew something was there.
And then one day, it happened.
In a school bathroom, of all places (isn’t that always how it goes?), a tapeworm passed. I was holding a toddler, managing pickup chaos—and suddenly I was crying and laughing and feeling more triumphant than I had in my entire life.
Because after months of hard work, I had proof: we were right all along.
Parasites Aren’t Just a “Third-World” Thing
The biggest lesson? Parasites are way more common than we think.
They don’t just come from contaminated water in a far-off country. They can come from fresh organic produce, soil, pets, sushi, and just being a normal human in the world. And most of the time, they go undiagnosed. Or worse, they get mistaken for something else: eczema, anxiety, food sensitivities, fatigue, IBS.
This experience changed the way I look at chronic symptoms—and it’s why I’m so passionate about helping other people explore this missing piece of the puzzle.
I Created the Resource I Wish I Had
If you're wondering whether parasites could be impacting you or your child, I put together something I wish I’d had back then:
👉 The Comprehensive Guide to Detoxes & Parasite Cleanses

It includes everything I’ve learned since that exhausting, incredible experience:
- Signs to look for (many are subtle)
- Why tests can come back negative, even when parasites are present
- How to know if your body is ready for a cleanse
- When to start (spoiler: timing matters)
- What to eat, what to avoid, and how to support detox pathways
- Plus, how to walk through it safely with kids
If I could go back to myself when my daughter was 4, feeling scared and stuck, this is the guide I would’ve handed myself. It’s the foundation I wish I’d had before the internet rabbit holes and sleepless nights.
Whether you’re looking to prevent or already suspect something deeper, this guide is a powerful starting point.
Because sometimes, the breakthrough comes from the thing no one’s talking about.
And sometimes, a mama’s intuition knows best. ❤️
