I eat right because..I am a MOM!

Hi Everyone!!

Ok, so by now you know I am a mom. We've been blessed with three baby girls; three, 19 months and 3 months old:) I am a wife and these two roles are the most important aspects and always will be. In the last couple years, I felt as though God expected even more from me. That I can serve His people even more than I do in my homemaker role. I started my business about 5 years ago with absolutely no expectations and no intention of it being more than just a tiny part time job! I'm also getting my masters, which will probably end up being a 4 year total process because I've never been able to focus my whole attention on anything other than my family. But I value the science of nutrition so much that I want to know more..the chemical reactions, the biological function, etc. We know greens are good for us, but do you know the cellular level that they're effecting us? This is why I spread myself so thin and wear all these different hats. It's stressful and overwhelming and crazy, but for some reason I do it. I do it because I want other moms and women and dads and men to know they can do it too!

As all you other mamas know, life can get really crazy in a blink of an eye. You go nonstop from the time you wake up, til the time you go to bed. You have to be extremely picky about any activities for yourself. While there has been no greater reward in my life than my children, they're also the greatest sacrifice...the work, the worry, the DRAMA ;) (I have only girls)

Yesterday during church, I was counting my blessings and realizing if I wasn't as healthy as I am, all the times I would absolutely crumble. Life can be so hard sometimes and yet we ourselves make it even harder than it has to be!

These are some of the reasons that as a MOM, I choose to eat right!!!

1. My body is a temple, only given to me as loan. I need to honor it and I want to teach my kids the same.

2. I want to be an example of healthy lifestyle for my kids.

3. It's one thing I can control, unlike how many hours of sleep I'm gonna get. Three variables during the night can be potential disaster.

4. Eating right gives me the energy to play more!! Tag and hide and go seek are popular these days.

5. I want to have LESS mood swings and MORE patience in the constant "spilled milk episodes". (hypothetically)

6. I NEED the energy for the daunting tasks of putting laundry away(I've been known to dry and re dry clothes to avoid this). Oh and I also hate unloading the dishwasher too!!

7. I eat right because I love overhearing my 3 year old tell her friends that "her mama says it's healthy".

8. I eat right because when I don't I get crabby and am a lot more likely to say bad words and it's all downhill from there. ;)

9. I eat right because I want to feel and SEE the difference from my workouts. I only have minimal time to get them in and know they're enhanced with a perfect diet!

10. I eat right because I want my body back!! I want to be me :)

11. I make healthy decisions because I need to avoid the doctor. We don't have time to add to our schedule.

12. I eat healthy so I am motivated to study!

13. I eat right so when my kids are asleep, I have the energy to write meal plans and help my clients.

14. I eat right so when the evening comes, I can enjoy cooking a quick healthy dinner, bathing 3 people(not including myself), cleaning up the kitchen and straightening the house.

15. I eat healthy because it makes me happy and I LOVE feeling good!

16. I eat right because I feel so proud when my kids ask me for avocado :)

17. I eat right and teach my family right, so when the dr tells me "According to her charts, your three year old is technically obese," I know this is not a health issue because she eats great and exercises all the time!

18. I eat healthy so when my head starts spinning with all the things I need to get done, I can wrap my mind around them.

19. I eat healthy because my life is not my own! It's dedicated to helping others, serving my children, husband and God!

20. I eat right, so when I do feel like having ice cream, I know it won't effect my much and I DON'T feel bad about it!

21. WE eat right, so we can enjoy life and live it to the fullest!

Well there you have it! Now you know why I care so much and am so crazy about it :) As a mom, we sometimes don't make time for ourselves and that's why I believe it's even more important to eat well. MOMS- you are superwoman!! You are teacher, hairdresser, laundress, housekeeper, chef, best friend, chauffeur and so so much more!! Make time for yourself..it's easier when you feel yourself..this is possible by taking care of yourself! Do it for you and do it because it makes you better for everyone else!!
